The International Cystinuria Foundation (ICF) public and private libraries contain literature written by and belonging to authors and publishers, respectively, who are not a part of the ICF. Because of the nature of this content, all readers must be aware of the following:

Intended Purpose of Use

All articles found in the ICF libraries are strictly for non-profit educational use by individuals. These articles are made available to ICF readers serve as a primary source for cystinuria-related research information. Readers should recognize that the overall body of cystinuria research is a work in progress and that none of the information contained within this collection of articles should be used as a substitute for consultation with an appropriate medical professional.

Restriction of Reproduction

All articles found in the ICF libraries remain the property of their respective indicated publishers. Each article hosted by the ICF contains information on the publisher and/or a link to the original work hosted at the publisher's site. Please use this information to contact the copyright holder and /or obtain official copies of the literature. Articles found in the ICF library may not be reproduced or distributed.

Removal of Original Formatting

Many major publishers (such as Nature Publishing Group) have granted the ICF permission to host articles on the condition that the formatting, which is the property of the publisher, is removed. The ICF complies with this practice and has adopted it as general ICF policy for all hosted work. Thus, articles found in our libraries appear as unformatted HTML pages, although we may also archive the original PDF documents, where appropriate.

ICF Public Library and Public Domain Materials

The Public Library hosts articles that the ICF believes, to the best of our knowledge, to be in the public domain or that we have specifically received permission to publicly host. The ICF refers to information maintained at the Cornell University Copyright Information Center including their Public Domain Chart (view a PDF of our most current copy)when making a determination regarding an articles public domain/copyright status. If you believe that an article has been inappropriately posted, please contact us directly. Copyright law is a complex subject, and the status of articles may be unclear or open to interpretation. The ICF will work with any publisher or copyright owner to amend any mistaken posting of articles.

Readers should note that, as stated above, some publishers have granted the ICF permission to publicly host articles, and thus not all articles found within the ICF Public Library are considered by the ICF to be in the public domain.

ICF Private Library Materials

The Private Library hosts articles that the ICF has been given permission to host, often with the consent of one of more of the authors, given that access is limited to patrons of the ICF. In compliance, the use of these materials has been restricted to ICF subscribers.
