In late October I had my 4th and last laser lithotripsy on a cystine stone originally the size of a golf ball. It is now completely gone! The urologist said that there were no new kidney stones in either kidney and that the medicines I am on seem to be completely supressing kidney stone growth. I take Urocit-K and a diuretic and they seem to be working perfectly :D . Hoping to be kidney stone free for quite a while :)

Matt,
Wow, a golf ball?
Have you had any past experience with shock wave lithotripsy? It's not supposed to be very effective for cystine stones, and i was wondering if you would be able to compare the lazer to the older method.

Also, what diuretic are you on that works so well?! That's great news that you are controling the problem with such minimal treatment. I wish it were that way for all people here!

Anyhow, much congratulations!! :)
Kind Regards,

I did have a shockwave lithotripsy but it did absolutely nothing my cystine stone. The laser lithotripsy is quite a bit more invasive, but quite a bit more effective from my experience. The diuretic I am on is Chlorthalidone, it seems to be working very well.
