Dr. Goldfarb,
How would my nephrologist go about prescribing my daughter's 24 hour
urines to be done through lith o link? Our local lab has lost the last 2 and
they give my daughter a hassle every time she comes with her script.
Thank you.

Have your doctor call Litholink: 8003384333. He can register with them and have them send a prescription pad. He checks the box "cystinuria" on the prescription, gives it to you, and then LL sends you the appropriate kit. Most insurance companies will be accepted by LL. If your doctor wants any help interpreting the results, Dr. John Asplin, medical director there can help and I am also happy to help or email him the relevant literature about the tests, some of which I authored with Dr. Asplin and Dr. Coe, if he emails me: dsgold [at] verizon.net

Thank you Dr. Goldfarb for the information about Litholink, I will pass it on
to Sam nephrologist.
Sam is near completion of the cytone clinical trial out of the Mayo clinic
in Rochester MN. I will update you on the final results sometime in August.
Preliminary results do not show a significant amount of stone reduction, however we do not have recent cystine levels to see if they have decreased.
Her stones have decreased in size it seems though.
