Hello,

I'm Delfí, from Europe. Man, 42. A old member of the cystinuria ring. My english is not perfect, so sorry for the mistakes. I speak catalan, spanish, french, english, portugese, some italian too. so feel free to write me in one of this languages. I will see what I will do to answer you... ;)

About the disease, I'm a very experienced patient. I'm interested specially in diets and holistic aproaches to the question. I'm a very bad patient, I don't take real care of my self, in a quind of way to self destroying. So, the pscological questions inherents to the disease are one of my priorities. Who the patients feel, as a human beings?

:)

Well, I hope we can share some information about that.

Best regards,

Delfí

Well it looks like you've beat me to your introduction. ;) Welcome Delfí! It is great to have such a dynamic member in the group! Unfourtinately, i can only speak English; French and Spanish were never my strong classes. ;) However, we have some members who might be able to share other languages with you. Please feel free to do so!
Anyhow, i'll start a new thread directed towards the diet discussion, and i know at least one of our members (Kathyblue) is interested in psychology, so she might be able to offer some conversation there.
In any case, it's great to have you here! :)
Regards,
matt

dear delfiroc,
i'm studying psychology right now at Colorado State University. As far as the psychological affects of this disease go, it is hard to tell. Not a whole lot of research has been done on the topic! I do know that there is a high level for depression that goes along with it. I think if anyone went though what most of us go though, they would have times when they got a little depressed. Other then that im not really sure...you have any thoughts on it?
As far as not being a good patiant, i completely understand! I am really bad about taking my meds and taking care of myself. I sometimes feel that if i ignore the problem it will just go away. i know this is not good and that it only makes the problem worse....but i feel that way sometimes!
I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on the topic!
